The Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) is a standardized assessment tool developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) to measure and evaluate the environmental performance of manufacturing facilities. It enables facilities to understand their environmental impacts, benchmark performance, and drive continuous improvement across key environmental areas.
Higg FEM focuses on both environmental management systems and actual environmental performance, encouraging facilities to move beyond policy commitments toward measurable outcomes. The tool supports transparency and consistency across global supply chains, helping brands, retailers, and manufacturers make informed, data-driven decisions.

Higg FEM assessments are structured across three levels of maturity:
